Salman plays Asin’s protector

Toodley too doo hoo my dimsums! A jasoos from Dubai just called to tell me about Salman Khan’s protective ways with Asin. Yeah, the two sitaras had taken off to the Gulf for the first night-out of their musical London Dreams, while co-star Ajay Devgan and producer-director Vipul Shah opted to promote it on desi shores.

Point to be noted is that initially, the two stars were to reach the venue in separate Limousines. But apparently, Sallu suggested that instead of going alag alag and akele akele, Asin and he should travel saath saath, in the same Limo.

Of course, Asin couldn’t refuse… Specially since he’s a senior star and they had become good friends during the shoot of the musical. But there was another problem — she was wearing a gown and the way it flowed, it kind of swept the floor.

So Sallu ensured that her outfit didn’t get dirty and played the chivalrous hero to the hilt, apart from playing mentor and protecting her when the crowd tried pushing closer to the stars at the theatre.

Now now, before you get any ideas, my jasoos reiterates that Sallu and Asin are just very good friends. Yeah, but of course. Who said anything else?

Asin walks out on Abhishek

After the failure of What’s your Rashee?, Ashutosh dived headfirst into his next period drama based on the Chittagong uprising of 1930. Going back to what he does best, Ashu roped in Asin to play the female lead. In an earlier interview, he had not confirmed this, saying, “Yes, its true that Abhishek is a part of my film Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se, and he essays the part of Surjya Sen. As far as Asin goes, I have approached her for the role, but it is too soon to comment on it.” Currently working on the pre-production matters of the film, Ashu was in for a rude shock when Asin backed off from the film at the last minute, citing date issues.

The director was left surprised. A source close to the actress however revealed, “It's not date issues. Asin doesn’t want to take any more chances with her next. London Dreams, while critically appreciated, did receive a lukewarm response; Asin was completely sidelined in the film and barely had a role to talk about. She faced the same issue during Ghajini when Aamir hogged all the limelight, and she couldn’t believe she made the same mistake again. Considering the recent closeness between Ashutosh and the Bachchans, Asin is sure that he wouldn’t pay much attention to her role and would devote his time and energy in promoting Abhishek in the film. Also, the failure of What’s Your Rashee? concerned her deeply, and now, she is being very careful with choosing her next film. Asin wants a full-fledged meaty role in her next to prove her acting prowess.”

Now, Ashutosh, along with pre-production matters of his film, will have to start searching for his female lead again. We wonder who would he settle upon, considering he's irked half of the industry's ladies with his unruly comments on Priyanka. Maybe Ash would come to her hubby's rescue finally!

"Do heroines really hate each other" asks Asin

You would have thought with her only film

(The 19th Step with Kamal Haasan and Japanese star Tadanobu Asano) hitting a rough patch, the lovely

actress Asin Thottumkal might be depressed.

Instead, she’s enjoying the monsoon and forced vacation at her new 3BHK in Versova where her neighbours are Sridevi and Tabu.

Asin’s under contract so she can’t comment on the reasons for her
film being stalled. But she chirps happily, “I will complete all my endorsement work now and read scripts.”

When Asin’s car first drove into the building complex where she now lives, it was Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi who ran up to her. According to Asin, “Sridevi herself is an absolute picture of grace and she welcomed me to
Bollywood with open arms.”

Tabu, who resides in the building opposite, hasn’t yet met her to say hello. “But we met at the Filmfare Awards and shared a jacket because the air-conditioning was so strong,’’ says Asin. At the same function, she bumped into Preity Zinta who gregariously hugged and welcomed her to Hindi cinema, as well. “And at the Femina Miss India contest, where I shared a podium with Sushmita Sen, her daughter Renee sat on my lap for the longest time,’’ recalls Asin.

Naturally, she wonders why the media exaggerates the so-called cat-fights between
actresses. “Do actresses really hate each other,’’ she asks. “I’ve been lucky in this aspect,’’ adds the South sensation who made a niche for herself last year with Bollywood’s highest grosser, Ghajini. “Sonam is my best friend in Mumbai,’’ she smiles.

They have been making plans to hangout and do girlie things, but haven’t got around to partying yet because of their individual work schedules. She also fails to understand why the media harps on about actresses giving each other the royal ignore because Deepika Padukone and she are buddies.

“We SMS each other as often as possible and we’re even set to shoot for Farah Khan’s talk show together,’’ she reveals. “Just because we’re competing for the same roles, it hardly means we can’t be civil with each other.”

We’ll check out the scorecard when the honeymoon is over.

Asin stalked in Singapore

Recently, gorgeous actress Asin was stalked by an unidentified man when she visited the beautiful country to attend an award function. The stalker has been following the actress ever-since she landed in Singapore and traced every movement of hers.

The man got so courageous with his moves that he tried to get closer to Asin, when she was in her hotel lobby. But thankfully, the hotel security guards instantly got into action and caught hold of the stalker, relieving Asin from any danger.

The stalker was then whisked away from the charming actress. These kind of unfortunate incidences are common with the celebrities, and their fans should understand what kind of mental trouble they cause to the stars by making such moves. – Sampurn Media

Is Asin keeping her enemies closer?

Seems like the Bollywood honeymoon is still not over for Asin, as the sinfully delicious actress seriously feels that actress can compete for the same roles and still be friends.

After being in news for sharing a dozen SMS everyday with Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Asin is hitting the airwaves again for being buddies with Anil Kapoor’s little girl, Sonam.

Being friends with Deepika and Sonam connects her with two of the most influential Kapoor clan of the Bollywood industry. Asin is a smart girl who knows to connect with the right people to move up in Bollywood.

At 23; Asin may be young, but she is definitely not naïve. A superstar down south long before Deepika and Sonam even signed their first films; Asin has been doing movies ever since she was 15 year old. She is well aware that her competitions in Bollywood are the young breed of actress, not the established ones.

All this talk of being friends with Deepika and Sonam, doesn’t go down too well if one remembers Asin’s spat with Genelia. Ms Congeniality Asin gets her claws out at the mention of Genelia.

Ahem Like they say, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

Asin and Sonam are friends

HTML clipboardIf Salman Khan dumped his rivalry with Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya shook hands with Sonam Kapoor then Bollywood new brigade Asin and Sonam Kapoor also finds a true friend on one another. Both bonded over parties and spend quality time at one another’s home. After making her base in Mumbai, Asin has found a good friend in Sonam and she accepted her friendship with Anil’s daughter even in an interview.

Sonam’s presence in Asin’s life is a great relief for her as she is new in Bollywood and yet to understand how the glamour industry works. Asin believes that Bollywood actresses are not only involved in cat-fights but they can also be good friends.

Well, we can see some new friendship coming up but let’s see whether it is long lasting or will get faded away with upcoming professional commitments.
